Cody McCain MA, LPCI enjoy assisting people who are working towards making improvements in their lives. Sometimes people are just looking for someone to consult with and sometimes people need more structure and guidance. I work to tailor the counseling experience to meet the needs of the individual in a collaborative setting, assisting them in working on goals that they themselves have decided they want help with. Helping my clients find a path to achieving their goals is my focus. I grew up in Dallas where I attended Jesuit College Preparatory School. I have been a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist church since 1994. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I received my M.A. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Southern Methodist University. I enjoy working with persons from diverse backgrounds and have experience working with many of the problems people face daily. I offer affordable counseling services and am eager to help people overcome their challenges. When not working in private practice I work as a therapist in the TCOOMMI Program of MetroCare Services. In the TCOOMMI Program we provide individual and family counseling to juvenile offenders with mental health needs in Dallas County. My experience at MetroCare has taught me a lot about how to work with individuals with diverse and often quite challenging circumstances in their lives who find themselves in crisis. It is my job to assist my clients in achieving positive outcomes. I am continually amazed at how much adversity people can overcome to be successful and strong individuals. I have spent over a quarter-century in service to people who hurt. I believe in the empowering potential of supportive, collaborative therapy, especially when God blesses it. Passing judgment has no part in my sessions. Lately I seem to have played the role of helpful, sentient granddad for a lot of folks. I guess it fits. My work on my own issues and my contributions to keeping a 40-year marriage together has been of use to others in my work. My licensed practice of 19 years with a diverse clientele is a very valuable asset. Twenty-nine extra credit hours' graduate work and hundreds of hours of continuing education probably help too. Let's talk about talking: My areas if interest include (but are not limited to)
depression and bipolar depression; addiction in all its forms and the
habits and thinking that don’t want to go away; men’s issues; balanced
marriages; recovery from trauma; parenting.

Stephanie Van Wig is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the
supervision of Judy Keith, LPC-Supervisor. She has a strong background
in trauma therapy and believes that all people suffer from a form of trauma
at some point in their lives. This trauma could be the shocking experience
of parents divorcing as a child, loss of physical health, death of a loved
one, domestic violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, satanic ritual
abuse, etc. Stephanie's passion is to seek freedom for those who feel
trapped in their personal trauma. Many times this involves the discovery
of a "true self" that has been hiding behind a mask for a long
time. Stephanie understands that coming to therapy for the first time
to face these issues can be a challenging thing; therefore, she combines
her therapy with a relaxed, enjoyable attitude.
